We are registered with The Law Society, regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and have the same levels of professional indemnity insurance  you would expect from any other firm of solicitors.

Our terms and conditions are straightforward and our charging structure is easy to understand.  This enables our clients to plan properly and budget for their legal services. When you enquire about using the services of a Novalex lawyer, after an initial and free discussion about the scope of the work, you will be given an estimate of what the job will cost.  

You may wish to negotiate a fixed fee for a predetermined amount of work, or prefer instead to pay an hourly rate.  How our charges are calculated will be clearly detailed and if there is anything you do not understand, we will of course explain further until you are completely satisfied. 

Our charges are likely to be significantly lower than a traditional law practice because with no junior staff to carry out delegated work which then has to be checked, there is no doubling of effort.  You pay for precisely the hours required for one highly qualified lawyer to complete the task. For hourly-rated work the invoice we provide will contain an exact break-down of the task, minute by minute, day by day.

Preliminary discussions between a solicitor and client are extremely important.  It should never be just a one-sided interview. You should feel confident and comfortable with whatever action or work the lawyer proposes, as well as the estimated costs and the likely outcome.  We consider this initial exploratory meeting or telephone call to be the most important part of our client liaison.

Once we understand the scope of the work, we will provide an estimate for the cost and a proposal for how it should be carried out and within what timescale.  Only when you are entirely happy with the quotation will work commence.
